One of our family favorites are Barbecued Meatballs. I hope you and your family enjoy them as much as we do.

Barbecued Meatballs

Meatballs:

2 lbs ground beef, 1-12oz can evaporated milk, 1c. oatmeal, 1 c. cracker crumbs, 1/2 tsp. pepper, 2 eggs, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, 2 tsp. salt, 2 tsp. chilli powder

Sauce:

2 c. catsup, 1 c. brown sugar, 1/2tsp liquid smoke, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 c. chopped onion.

To make meatballs, combine all ingredients (mixture will be soft) and shape into walnut-size balls.  Place meatballs in a single layer on wax paper lined cookie sheets; freeze until solid.  Store frozen meatballs in freezer bags until ready to cook.

To make sauce, combine all ingredients and stir until sugar is dissolved.  Lightly grease 9x13x2 inch baking pan, now add frozen meatballs.  Pour on the sauce.  Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until done.  Be sure not to omit the liquid smoke as that flavors the meatballs. This makes a large batch.
