Good Day to all our quilting friends!
Hard to believe that school is in session for us already. Great joy and sadness on the home front as my youngest son Marshall begins his Senior year of High School. So being a proud parent I had to share the first day of school picture. It seems like I was just sending him off to Kindergarten. Having two sons they reluctantly let me take pictures every year. Some day they may thank me for the nagging memory of "mom always had to". Do you take pictures of your kids on the first day of school?
Summer time is generally when most of us take a bit of vacation time. How about you? Did you get to enjoy your summer? Now I am back and ready to go.This is one of the new things coming your way and we hope you might consider joining us. Even if you live away we would love to share this sewing ventures with you! Treats!...... Yum, did you say cookies?
Here are some of the yummiest cookies ever! My families favorite and the best thing is that it makes a big batch, so you actually have some left after baking them. That is, if you can keep them from eating all the cookie dough :)
Chocolate Chip Cookies
2c. butter softened2c. brown sugar4 eggs2c. white sugar2 T. vanilla24 oz. chocolate chips ( I use the mini M & M's, 1 bag)4c. flour5c. oatmeal3/4 T. salt2 T. baking soda2 T. baking powder
Cream together butter, brown sugar, eggs, white sugar, and vanilla. MIx flour and oatmeal together in a blender until a powder mixture. ( I do this in increments-1 c flour with 1 c oatmeal etc.). Mix into creamed mixture. Add rest of dry ingredients to flour mixture. Add chocolate chips or mini M & M's. Shape into golf ball size and put on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for only 8 minutes only! They will look doughy but don't bake them longer. Yummmmmy good!
Enjoy and see you again soon!
